At Primary Care Specialist, we believe communication is the best policy.  We strive to deliver high quality patient-centered continuity of care services to each individual patient.   When a patient needs to be seen, our goal is to schedule that patient with an appointment as timely as possible, and to always render optimal care and patient satisfaction.

Office Hours:
Monday – Thursday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Appointments:  To schedule an appointment please call our office at (901) 458-0162 or through our patient portal at  We do accommodate same day appointments for true emergencies only.  Patients must contact the clinic no later than 10:00 a.m. on the day of to receive consideration for a same day appointment.  Same day appointments will receive priority to be seen either by a preferred provider or member of that provider’s care team.  If care team members are unavailable, then services will be coordinated for the patient to be seen by another established provider. We reserve a minimum of one regular appointment slot per day to remain open for same day appointment access with a preferred personal provider.

After Hours:  For serious or life-threatening emergencies, you should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.  After clinic hours of operation, any calls placed will be forwarded to our answering service.  A representative will log the call and forward to a provider.  The provider will handle the matter and ensure sufficient resolution.  The provider will document pertinent information into the patient’s electronic medical record within 24 hours if communication occurs Monday – Friday and within 48 hours if on the weekend.  If the patient needs to be seen after the close of business, services can be provided at Methodist Minor Medical Center.

Late Appointment Arrival:  Returning patients shall arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled appointment to check in.  New patients shall arrive at least 30 minutes prior to appointment to complete the new patient paperwork.  If a patient arrives between 15-30 minutes late for their appointment time, they may be asked to reschedule for the next available appointment time.  The provider is to be consulted with and ultimately decides his/her ability to accommodate said patients.  Patients arriving greater than 30 minutes late will be automatically no-showed.

No Shows:
First occurrence – Patient will receive a verbal warning during attempts to schedule future appointments.  No financial penalty is assessed.  Patient will be required to sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice during check-in during future visit.
Second occurrence – Patient will be charged a $40 fee.
Third occurrence – Patient will be charged a $75 fee or discharged from the practice at the provider’s discretion.

Cancellations:  Patients shall call at least 24 hours if unable to keep scheduled appointment.  This allows the clinic to assign that time slot to another patient.

Linguistic Services:  Interpretive services shall be offered to the patient as needed for the clinical encounter, phone calls in the PCP, as well as other office related questions and concerns.  Designee employee(s) of the clinic will be utilized as needed to interpret the clinical encounter with the PCP as well as assist in the understanding of the clinical assessment.  The patient reserves the right to enlist interpretation support from an individual of their choosing or as deemed appropriate by the provider.
